generational gap
Cohort perspective differences
A generational gap is a difference in attitudes, values, or experiences between people of different age groups—typically between parents and children or between older and younger cohorts in society.
The term emerged in the 1960s when youth culture diverged sharply from that of their elders: The generational gap over technology frustrates both teenagers and their grandparents.
