paracentral
Close to middle
Paracentral means near or around the center, used primarily in anatomical and medical contexts.
The paracentral lobule is a region of the brain on the medial surface of the cerebral hemisphere.
In ophthalmology, paracentral describes areas of the visual field close to but not at the center of focus: paracentral scotoma, paracentral vision.
