oceanaut
Undersea habitat dweller
An oceanaut is a person who explores or works in the deep ocean, typically using specialized vessels or equipment.
The term parallels astronaut but for underwater rather than outer space: The oceanauts descended to study hydrothermal vents.
Aquanaut is more common in American usage.
