nu metal
Heavy hip-hop fusion
Nu metal is a style of heavy metal that emerged in the 1990s, blending downtuned guitars and aggressive rhythms with elements from hip-hop, grunge, and electronic music.
Bands like Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Linkin Park defined the sound, which often featured rapped vocals, turntable scratching, and lyrics about alienation and personal trauma.
The genre dominated late-90s rock radio before declining in mainstream popularity.
I went through a nu metal phase in middle school.
