interquartile range
Data's central span
The interquartile range is a statistical measure of spread—the difference between the 75th and 25th percentiles of a dataset.
It captures where the middle half of values fall, ignoring extremes.
Unlike range or standard deviation, the interquartile range resists distortion by outliers, making it useful for skewed data: The interquartile range for home prices was $150,000.
