nonresident
Not living here
A nonresident is someone who doesn't live in a particular place—a state, country, or institution.
The term matters for taxes, tuition, and voting rights: Nonresident students pay higher fees.
As an adjective, it describes status or arrangements: nonresident alien, nonresident landlord.
The opposite is resident.
