muscle twitching
Fibers firing randomly
Muscle twitching is the involuntary contraction of muscle fibers, producing small, visible movements under the skin.
These brief spasms often occur in the eyelid, calf, or thumb, typically from fatigue, caffeine, stress, or dehydration.
Usually harmless and temporary: My eye has been twitching all day.
Persistent twitching may warrant medical attention.
