atony
Loss of firmness
Atony is the absence or loss of normal muscle tone.
The term appears in medical contexts describing muscles that have become weak or flaccid, unable to contract properly: intestinal atony, uterine atony after childbirth.
The condition may result from nerve damage, prolonged inactivity, or certain diseases.
