fasciculation
Visible muscle quiver
Fasciculation is an involuntary muscle twitch—a brief, visible contraction under the skin caused by spontaneous firing of motor neurons.
The eyelid is a common site: My eye has been fasciculating all week.
Fasciculations are usually benign, triggered by caffeine, stress, or fatigue, though persistent ones may indicate neurological conditions.
