multi-core
Several CPUs combined
Multi-core describes a processor containing two or more independent processing units on a single chip.
Each core can execute instructions simultaneously, improving performance for tasks that can be divided: a multi-core CPU handles video editing more efficiently.
The term appears in computing discussions about speed and parallel processing.
Also spelled multicore.
