mesomorph
Naturally athletic physique
A mesomorph is a person with a naturally muscular, athletic build—broad shoulders, narrow waist, and the ability to gain muscle easily.
The term comes from a mid-20th-century body-type classification system that divided physiques into three categories: ectomorph (thin), mesomorph (muscular), and endomorph (stocky).
Though the underlying theory has been largely discredited, the terms persist in fitness culture: Mesomorphs tend to respond well to strength training.
