dosha
Body-mind governing force
Dosha is a concept from Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine, referring to one of three fundamental energies believed to govern physiological and psychological functions in the body.
The three doshas—vata, pitta, and kapha—correspond roughly to air, fire, and earth elements.
Practitioners believe that each person has a unique balance of doshas, and that illness results from imbalance.
My Ayurvedic practitioner says my vata is out of balance.
