mental hygiene
Mind care practices
Mental hygiene is the practice of maintaining psychological health and preventing mental illness.
The term was common in early-to-mid 20th century public health campaigns promoting emotional wellbeing, stress management, and healthy habits of mind.
It now sounds dated, largely replaced by "mental health" or "self-care": The pamphlet offered tips on mental hygiene for factory workers.
