therapists
Talk through problems
Therapists are professionals who provide therapy—treatment for physical, mental, or emotional conditions.
The term most commonly refers to psychotherapists or counselors who help people work through psychological issues: She's been seeing a therapist since the divorce.
It also applies to practitioners of physical therapy, occupational therapy, massage therapy, and other specialized treatments.
A therapist is distinct from a psychiatrist, who holds a medical degree and can prescribe medication.
