lividity

Postmortem skin pooling

Lividity is the dark purplish discoloration that appears in the lowest parts of a corpse as blood pools after death—a key indicator forensic investigators use to determine whether a body has been moved.

More generally, lividity describes the bluish or leaden color of bruised or congested tissue.

The word can also mean intense anger, from the idea of someone turning livid with rage: His lividity was evident in his clenched jaw and white knuckles.
