libraries
Public reading rooms
Libraries are institutions that collect and lend books, periodicals, and other materials for public or institutional use.
The word also denotes the collections themselves or the rooms housing them: a personal library, the library wing of the mansion.
In computing, a library is a collection of prewritten code that programmers can use in their applications.
The singular library covers all these senses.
