langoustines

Small clawed crustaceans

Langoustines are small lobster-like crustaceans prized in European cuisine, especially French and Scottish cooking.

Also called Norway lobsters or Dublin Bay prawns, they have slender claws and delicate, sweet flesh: langoustines in garlic butter, grilled langoustines with aioli.

They're smaller than true lobsters but larger than most shrimp.
