raw bar
Shucked shellfish station
A raw bar is a restaurant counter or section serving raw shellfish—typically oysters, clams, and shrimp on ice, often with mignonette sauce, cocktail sauce, and lemon.
The term also refers to the establishment itself: We started the evening at a raw bar in the French Quarter.
Common at seafood restaurants and upscale events.
