landscape architect
Outdoor space planner
A landscape architect designs outdoor spaces—parks, gardens, campuses, public plazas, residential grounds.
The work combines aesthetic vision with practical knowledge of terrain, drainage, plant life, and how people move through spaces.
Unlike a gardener or landscaper who installs and maintains, a landscape architect plans: The landscape architect's design transformed the abandoned lot into a community green space.
