green roof
Vegetated building top
A green roof is a roof covered with vegetation planted over a waterproof membrane.
Green roofs absorb rainwater, provide insulation, and create habitat for wildlife in urban areas.
They range from simple sedum mats to elaborate rooftop gardens: The building's green roof reduced cooling costs significantly.
