kreplach
Meat-filled Jewish dumplings
Kreplach are small dumplings in Jewish cuisine, made from thin dough wrapped around a filling of ground meat, mashed potatoes, or cheese, then boiled or fried.
They resemble Italian tortellini and are traditionally served in chicken soup on holidays like Yom Kippur and Purim: Grandma always made kreplach for the break-fast.
