bialy
Bagel's softer cousin
A bialy is a round Jewish roll with a depression in the center filled with onion and sometimes poppy seeds.
Unlike a bagel, it isn't boiled before baking and has no hole—just an indentation.
The name comes from Białystok, a Polish city.
I'll have a bialy with cream cheese.
