key frame
Defines motion pivots
A key frame is a frame in animation or video that defines a significant point of change—position, color, scale—with the software generating intermediate frames automatically.
Animators set key frames at critical moments; the computer interpolates the rest: I set key frames at the start and end of the jump.
In video compression, key frames store complete image data while surrounding frames record only changes.
