kerbing

Road edge installation

Kerbing is the British spelling of curbing—the material or stones that form a kerb (the raised edge along a street or pavement).

It also refers to the act of installing such edging: The council approved kerbing along the new footpath.

In figurative use, kerbing means restraining or checking: kerbing inflation, kerbing spending.
