kerb
Pavement's raised edge
Kerb is the British spelling of curb—the raised edge of a pavement or sidewalk that borders the roadway: She tripped on the kerb.
In American English, curb serves for both the concrete edge and the verb meaning to restrain, while British English distinguishes kerb (the edge) from curb (to restrain).
