Anglo-Indian breakfast dish
Kedgeree is a British breakfast dish of flaked smoked fish, rice, hard-boiled eggs, and curry spices.
It originated as a colonial adaptation of an Indian rice-and-lentil dish called khichdi, transformed by the British in India and brought home as a staple of Victorian breakfast tables: We had kedgeree at the hotel's traditional English breakfast.
