imperial units
Feet, pounds, gallons
Imperial units are a system of measurement historically used in the British Empire and still common in the United States and United Kingdom.
The system includes feet and inches for length, pounds and ounces for weight, and gallons and pints for volume.
Americans often say imperial when they mean U.S. customary units, though the two systems differ slightly—a U.S. gallon is smaller than an imperial gallon.
The recipe was in imperial units, so I had to convert to metric.
