hypodense
Appears darker radiologically
Hypodense describes tissue or material that appears darker on medical imaging—particularly CT scans—because it absorbs less radiation than surrounding structures.
A hypodense lesion in the liver, for instance, shows up darker than normal liver tissue: The scan revealed a hypodense mass in the right kidney.
The opposite is hyperdense.
