hyperdense

Beyond normal density

Hyperdense describes something with unusually high density.

In medical imaging, particularly CT scans, hyperdense areas appear brighter than surrounding tissue, often indicating blood, calcium, or foreign material: The scan showed a hyperdense lesion in the frontal lobe.

Outside medicine, hyperdense can describe anything packed extremely tightly—populations, text, or urban environments.
