huarache
Mexican leather footwear
A huarache is a Mexican sandal with a woven leather upper, traditionally made from interlaced strips of leather attached to a flat sole.
The style has been adopted by fashion and footwear brands worldwide: She wore huaraches all summer.
In Mexican cuisine, a huarache is also an oblong masa flatbread topped with beans, meat, and salsa—named for its sandal-like shape.
