zori

Straw-soled flip-flops

Zori are flat Japanese sandals with a thong strap between the first two toes, traditionally worn with kimono.

The soles are typically made of rice straw, cloth, or rubber.

Unlike wooden geta, zori have flat bottoms without elevated supports: She slipped on her zori before stepping onto the tatami.
