tostada
Flat crunchy Mexican
A tostada is a Mexican dish consisting of a flat, crispy fried or toasted tortilla topped with various ingredients—typically refried beans, meat, lettuce, cheese, and salsa.
The word is Spanish for "toasted." Unlike tacos, tostadas are eaten flat rather than folded: I ordered two chicken tostadas and a horchata.
