greyscale
Black-to-white range
Greyscale refers to images rendered only in shades of grey, from white through black, without color.
The term applies to photography, printing, and digital displays: Convert the photo to greyscale.
In medicine, greyscale ultrasound produces the familiar black-and-white images of diagnostic scans.
Also spelled grayscale, especially in American English.
