grade crossing
Tracks meet road
A grade crossing is a place where a road and a railroad track intersect at the same level, rather than one passing over or under the other.
Warning signs, lights, or gates typically mark these crossings: The train horn sounded at every grade crossing.
Also called a level crossing, especially in British English.
