goring

Bull's violent thrust

Goring is the act of piercing or stabbing with a horn or tusk.

Bulls gore matadors; wild boars gore hunting dogs.

The word almost always involves animals with pointed protrusions attacking people or other animals: The hiker was gored by an elk.

Metaphorical use is rare—the violence is too specific and visceral to abstract easily.
