corrida

Matador's arena event

A corrida is a bullfight—the traditional Spanish spectacle in which a matador confronts and kills a bull in an arena.

The word is Spanish, literally meaning "running" or "race." In English, corrida usually appears in contexts discussing Spanish or Latin American culture: We attended a corrida in Madrid.

The full Spanish term is corrida de toros (running of bulls).
