gibbous
More than half
Gibbous describes the moon when it is more than half illuminated but not yet full—the phase between half-moon and full moon.
The word comes from Latin for "hump" and can describe anything convex or swelling outward: the gibbous curve of a pregnant belly.
In astronomy, both waxing gibbous (growing toward full) and waning gibbous (shrinking from full) are standard terms.
