solar eclipse

Lunar shadow event

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between Earth and the sun, temporarily blocking sunlight.

In a total eclipse, the moon completely covers the sun's disk, turning day to darkness; in a partial eclipse, only part of the sun is obscured.

We drove six hours to see the total solar eclipse.
