geocentric
Ptolemaic model's assumption
Geocentric describes a model or perspective placing Earth at the center.
The geocentric model of the universe, dominant until Copernicus, held that the sun and planets revolved around Earth.
More broadly, geocentric can mean Earth-centered in orientation or concern: a geocentric view of space exploration.
The opposite is heliocentric, with the sun at center.
