unmoved mover
First cause, unchanging
The unmoved mover is a philosophical concept—something that causes motion or change without itself being moved or changed by anything else.
Aristotle introduced the idea to explain how motion exists in the universe: there must be something that initiates change without requiring a prior cause.
In theology, the concept often serves as an argument for God's existence—a first cause that sets everything in motion while remaining eternal and unchanging.
