geo-blocking
Regional access denial
Geo-blocking is the practice of restricting access to online content based on the user's geographic location.
Streaming services geo-block content to enforce regional licensing agreements: The show is available in the UK but geo-blocked in the US.
VPNs are commonly used to circumvent geo-blocking by masking one's location.
