gastroenteritis
Intestinal infection illness
Gastroenteritis is inflammation of the stomach and intestines, typically causing vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps.
Often called stomach flu (though unrelated to influenza), it usually results from viral or bacterial infection and resolves within a few days: The whole family came down with gastroenteritis after the picnic.
