filter bubble
Personalized information silo
A filter bubble is the intellectual isolation that results when algorithms personalize your online experience based on past behavior.
Search engines and social media show you content matching your existing views, gradually excluding opposing perspectives.
People in different filter bubbles can inhabit entirely different realities.
The term suggests being trapped without knowing it.
