news feed
Social media scroll
A news feed is a continuously updated stream of content—articles, posts, images, videos—displayed in a list format on websites and apps.
Social media platforms use algorithmic news feeds to show users content from friends and followed accounts: I saw it on my news feed this morning.
Originally referred to RSS feeds delivering headlines from news sites, but now more commonly means the central feature of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram where content appears in reverse chronological or algorithmically sorted order.
