feudal era
Age of serfs
The feudal era is the historical period when feudalism dominated—roughly the 9th through 15th centuries in Europe, characterized by lords granting land to vassals in exchange for military service and loyalty.
The term appears in discussions of medieval history and, more loosely, to describe any time or place with rigid hierarchical social structures: workplace dynamics straight out of the feudal era.
