ecumenism
Church unity movement
Ecumenism is the movement toward unity among Christian churches and denominations.
It emphasizes shared beliefs over doctrinal differences, seeking cooperation or eventual reunion among traditions that have been historically divided: The ecumenical council brought together Catholics, Protestants, and Orthodox leaders.
More loosely, ecumenical describes any effort toward broad inclusiveness or universal agreement.
