drop sets
Lighter-each-round lifts
Drop sets are a weight training technique where you perform an exercise to muscle failure, immediately reduce the weight, and continue for more repetitions without rest.
The process may repeat through several weight reductions in a single set.
Drop sets intensify workouts by pushing muscles past their normal fatigue point: I finished my bicep curls with two drop sets.
