desolder

Remove metal bonds

To desolder is to remove solder from an electronic connection, typically to detach a component from a circuit board.

The process uses heat—from a soldering iron or specialized desoldering tool—to melt the solder so it can be drawn away: I had to desolder the old capacitor before installing the replacement.

The opposite of solder.
