braze

Join using alloy

Braze is to join metal pieces using a filler metal that melts at high temperature but below the melting point of the pieces themselves.

The technique resembles soldering but uses higher heat and produces stronger bonds.

Brazing is common in plumbing, HVAC work, and bicycle frame construction: The mechanic brazed the cracked exhaust manifold.
