crewed
Worked the vessel
Crewed describes something operated or staffed by a crew: a crewed spacecraft, a crewed mission to Mars.
The word distinguishes human-operated vehicles or missions from unmanned or autonomous ones.
The station was crewed around the clock.
Less commonly, crewed is the past tense of crew, meaning to serve as crew: She crewed on racing yachts for years.
